Why Braces?
Your smile says a lot about you... it's what people see first and remember the most. It reflects your attitude and how you feel about yourself. If you wish your smile was more pleasing, or your bite is uncomfortable, orthodontics may be the answer.
Your dentist may have discussed with you the benefits of having healthy teeth and proper jaw alignment. Crooked and crowded teeth are hard to clean and maintain. This can result in tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss. Other orthodontic bite problems can contribute to abnormal wear of tooth surfaces, inefficient chewing function, excessive stress on gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth, or misalignment of the jaw joints. These can lead to chronic headaches and sometimes face, muscle and neck pain.
Without treatment, problems may worsen, proving to be more costly and serious in the future. For most people, a beautiful smile is the most obvious benefit of orthodontics. After completion of your treatment, whether you chose braces (metal steel, gold, clear or on the insides of your teeth) or clear aligners, you'll feel more self-confident.
What does orthodontic treatment involve?
Most of all, treatment involves YOU! We will provide you with all necessary appliances, adjuncts and final retainers. However, diligently following our instructions for wearing them and practicing good oral hygiene will ensure proper results. It's never too late to have a dazzling, healthy smile.
